Virunga safaris- kidepo special
Kidepo valley national park is Uganda’s third largest national park covering an area of 1442 km2 and found in north east Uganda.
The park has two major valleys that is; the kidepo valley and narus valley and during the dry season animals emerge into the remaining swamps and the narus river.
Kidepo valley national park has around 475 species of birds and around 77 species of animals like the zebras, elephants, kobs, water backs, warthogs, jackals, Hearte beasts, buffaloes, giraffes, lions, leopards, cheetahs and many other.
Early morning we shall drive to the north east passing through luwero triangle to gulu town where we shall have lunch after we proceed to the park. The distance will take us the whole day where we expect to reach in the evening.
Start our day with a full day game drive down to the narus valley where we expect to zebras, giraffes, kobs, elephants, water backs, warthogs, buffaloes, lions, leopards, and the cheetah. We shall also drive to the north of the park in search of the ostrich passing through the thick vegetation crossing the kidepo river to the north in the beautiful plains with scattered acacia species. Come back for dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Here we shall have a community visit outside the park, where we will visit the extended families of grass thatched houses of the karamojong people (known as the Manyattas), dance with them. Prepare food with them and have lunch with the locals, later we proceed to kitugum house or gulu town for dinner and overnight.
Depart back to kampala or airport
