Volcanoes national park being Rwanda’s tourism herb is the world’s heritage site with different famous activities like mountain hiking, visiting the Diana fossy tomb, and viewing the golden monkeys while protecting the world’s endangered apes (Gorillas). The park measures 160km2 found in western Rwanda and easy to access by road for around two and a half hours from Kigali airport. Its spectacular views of the mountains sceneries, open views of the summits/ peaks that are sometimes covered by clouds leave you wondering how God took time to moldely beautify this smallest east African country.
Day 1: Morning City tour and transfer to Volcanoes.
Transfer from the airport or hotel to Kigali genocide memorial site or center for a city tour and after visit the markets where we shall from proceed to Volcanoes National Park for gorillas and golden monkey tracking.
Day 2: Gorilla tracking.
After breakfast at 6.30am, drive to the park headquarters with our passports ready for briefing and tracking the world’s endangered apes. Upon finishing the briefing, you will be allocated to your group and again drive to the gorilla starting point. Tracking may take full day thus advised to move with packed lunch and enough water.
Day 3: Golden Monkey Tracking.
Drive to the park headquarters for golden monkeys tracking. After done with the registration and briefing get back into our car and drive to the starting point of the tracking. These little gorgeous monkeys are the best to see as they are only found into the great virunga region. They will be seen at the foothills of the mountains in 100 or many numbers. The tracking is not difficult or as hard compares to the gorillas. Later we come back to the hotel ready to check out to Kigali for our departure.
